The last week of the study really got here before I knew it. In weeks one and two it was as if the final week would never arrive, but as we worked through each week, one at a time, it did. Reflecting back on the past weeks of this study reveal that my focus and my life is different than it was when we began. Praise God! (more…)

Christina’s Day 82… Getting the Legal Stuff Together
Great check list of things to get together – hmmm not much we probably did not know already but that “avoidance” thing keeps coming into play! Getting all of the information from your wallet, your passport, legal docs, emergency contacts and any “directives” together NOW is great advice. I want to get this going and add it to my long term projects so that I have the reminder to keep it up to date and have the family aware of how important it is… Here is my check list:

Christina’s Day 80…. Budget and Living within Your Means
Today it talks about how money drives people. It becomes their focus – we have been taught the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.. 1st Timothy 6:10 (here it is in several translations) – one thing I can say about myself is I have never been “driven” by money and having it. I am not saying I live within my means but I can say I have not and do not dream of being “rich” “having it all” or making “tons of money”. I have always looked at it as, I just need to make so I can live happy, have some of the things I want and be able to do things with my family. (more…)

Christina’s Day 79… PrePay Your Mortgage
I have always heard about paying down your mortgage faster than it is scheduled to be paid off… I never truly found a “plan of action” that I could wrap my head around. I am sure Dave Ramsey, in the Financial Peace University had a great plan – but when taking that course I really focused on other areas like Credit Cards and saving my first $1,000 to start that program. But listening to Donna Partow now hearing just add 10% of your payment each month – I can hear that now. (more…)

Christina’s Days 71, 72, 73, 74, and 75 Ministry of the Home…
Today I am working to get caught up – it is strange how one bump in your normal routine can throw the entire thing off for a long time. It is so much work to create a habit, work within discipline and it only takes one little trip to deconstruct what you had been building for some time! Excuses NO, Ownership in me not putting myself right back where I was in the line of focus and work the minute I stumbled! This is the week where the previous 70 days all seem to come together and the “big picture” is revealed…. where I saw the reason why we have gone through the rest of this study, like a giant light bulb has been turned on and I can see it clearly!
