Fruits of the Spirit Friday: Gentleness… Not my strongest trait!

Gentleness – definitely not one of my strongest traits.

I am originally from New Jersey and… well… Jersey girls are not really well-known for being quiet or gentle… and neither am I. I tend to get excited during conversation and get loud at times, I talk with my hands, and I pronounce water as wudder and creek as crick. It is who I am even though I am no longer in NJ.

Thankfulness Thursday: Unexpected Blessings

Happy Thankfulness Thursday!

Today I want to celebrate those unexpected blessings that pop up every once in a while and those “blessings” that don’t seem to be blessings at first.
I am a firm believer that God can make good come from ANY situation and that there is so much we can learn during those trials of life that can in turn become blessings as well.

When I began writing this post, I was sitting in the women’s health center waiting to see my doctor – after just having an ultrasound. I was going to write about how much of a blessing it is when we get windfalls – money that seems to arrive out of nowhere, or even the gift of a new-to-you car that you did not expect, or a new business venture that is becoming lucrative, and my list could have gone on. That is what I WAS going to write about… that was until I heard the doctor say, “instead of going to the exam room, why don’t we talk in my office?” I just knew what was coming next was going to be bad…

Walk Talk Wednesday: Not Where I Want To Be

Posted by on Mar 12, 2014 in Real Life Application, Walk Talk Wednesday

There have been times in my life where I have felt closer to God than others. Right now, I am definitely in one of my “wish I was closer” times. I am never quite sure how I end up here and getting back to walking closely with God is always harder than I expect. Each time I try to get closer to God during these phases, I encounter drama, problems, and STRESS – and lots of it. I have come to the conclusion over the years that these difficulties are from satan — trying to prevent me from getting back on the path with God again — and this makes me even more determined to get back on track.

But HOW do you get back on track you might ask?

Trials and Triumphs Tuesday: Allowing stress to control me is my BIGGEST trial

Posted by on Mar 11, 2014 in Real Life Application, Tuesday's Trials & Triumphs

Not every week has its triumphs… not every day for that matter either. BUT, we can learn from our trials when we are in the midst of them so that we can turn our trials into triumphs.

Today I want to share with you my BIGGEST struggle – this is the trial I deal with regularly and often times, admittedly, I let satan get the best of me. This is something I definitely want to improve upon.

So my typical response to stress is to keep pushing forward and taking on more and more and more stress until I get to the breaking point. WRONG ANSWER – I know… but it is quite difficult to remember to stop when you have deadlines and kids to pick up on time and dinner to make and on and on and on, right?
