Song of Solomon 10:9 (CEB) says:
But wisdom rescues her servants from their trials.
When I find a verse that is helpful to me or “speaks” to me in some way like this one, I like to look it up in other translations as well. Makes me very glad that I have the Bible app. 🙂 Well, when I tried to look up this verse in other versions, it did not exist. I have never had that happen before, but I just recently started looking at the Common English Bible. So, I went back to the KJV and searched for “wisdom” instead and here is what I found:
- Luke 7:35 (KJV) – But wisdom is justified of all her children.
- Proverbs 4:7 (KJV) – Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
- Proverbs 2:6 (KJV) – For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
- Ecclesiastes 7:19 (KJV) – Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.
- Job 28:18 (KJV) – No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
As you can see from the scriptures, WISDOM – the true wisdom that comes from God alone –Â is more valuable than anything. Wisdom is justified, with wisdom you can gain understanding, and wise men are stronger than the strongest “strong-men”.
As you face the trials in your life, seek God’s wisdom first and foremost. It is through seeking God that we gain wisdom, then comes understanding as we continue looking to God in our trial, and ultimately, we are delivered – rescued – from our trials because of Wisdom.
May you seek God’s wisdom today and find understanding in all of your tomorrows, and may your trials all become triumphs because of this wisdom.
Be blessed today and always!
Yours in Christ,
Alicia
