Auditory learning… reading the content out loud (loud enough to hear it well, not a little whisper) gives us another learning style Lisa Whelchel shares in this day’s study. I think I like this method the best – I do find myself when I really need to concentrate on something I am writing or reading I read it out loud. So for learning I really feel this is the best for me.
One of my favorite things from my small group bible study is what ever we were studying the leader, Mike, would break it into peaces and have each one of us read that piece out loud to the group. It was really neat because not only did we get the benefit of listening to someone else and their “inflections” while reading but we all seemed to have different translations of the bible and we could share that too… boy I miss that the most!
Day three works like this – read this passage and “stress” each word while reading it several times over – so the first time you read it out loud you stress the first word, the second time – the second word, the third time – the third word and so on until you have read it out loud as many times as there are words in the passage. I am not sure about reading the passage over and over as many times as there are words in it but defilement out loud – as I say loud and proud!
Try it – here is our passage:
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
I did enjoy this passage and reading it over and over, nothing like positive reinforcement in the mornings!
Dear Lord I Pray…Dear Jesus – Today I was introduced to a prayer for my “work” I really love it and want to share it here today with you again! As I walk into my office and before I begin one ounce of work I want to say this to you everyday… “Father, today I want to express my gifts. I want to do it as if I’m doing it for You and I want to do it in love.” I work with so many clients Lord and team members that sometimes my days are filled with frustration but I always work from a place of love in my heart for each and everyone of them – I want to commit my mornings to saying loud and proud that I want to express my gifts, the gifts you gave me and work so I show love all of the time to everyone. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t ever come from a bad place to clients or team mates but saying it out loud, declaring it in the morning when I start will fill that spot with you and I too! Please bless those that are searching for the kind of unconditional love you give – rest your hand on their shoulder and whisper reassurance to them so that they will continue to seek for answers – answers that will lead them to YOU Father. Jesus I lift up my dear friend Alicia and her family in this time of transition and I know you will be right by their sides ALL OF THEM the entire time. I lift my husband up to you Lord and I hold him there for you to touch him in a way that he “hears” you – I pray you take the fear out of him so that he can get to know you more intimate as I have – Jesus I know you are here for us all and I thank you for all you do… in your name I pray AMEN.
