Spiritual housecleaning is something that my husband and I feel very strongly about. When we first got together, he even convinced me that it was necessary to get rid of all my music CDs – as they were full of angst and sadness – and pray for forgiveness afterward. It was not just him being crazy or controlling. As the spiritual leader of our newly-formed family, he was exactly right. Replacing this music with praise music was an enormous blessing to our family, our marriage, and to my letting go of the past that I so desperately needed.
