Trials & Triumphs Tuesday: Quick Update on Prayer Time

Posted by on Mar 18, 2014 in Real Life Application, Tuesday's Trials & Triumphs

Today is just a quick update on my small triumphs in my daily prayer time with God. Last week, I talked about how Iwanted to make a committment to have some quiet time to talk to God twice a day.

Well, I put it on my phone’s calendar, set it to remind me when it was time for God, and during the week Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, I was able to keep the routine. Yay! 🙂 I tend to get off track a little on weekends just because my schedule is different – more laid back – on weekends. But this week is a new week and Iam looking forward to that alone time with God!

I see another trial turning into triumph! God is SO good!

Be blessed today and always!

Walk Talk Wednesday: Not Where I Want To Be

Posted by on Mar 12, 2014 in Real Life Application, Walk Talk Wednesday

There have been times in my life where I have felt closer to God than others. Right now, I am definitely in one of my “wish I was closer” times. I am never quite sure how I end up here and getting back to walking closely with God is always harder than I expect. Each time I try to get closer to God during these phases, I encounter drama, problems, and STRESS – and lots of it. I have come to the conclusion over the years that these difficulties are from satan — trying to prevent me from getting back on the path with God again — and this makes me even more determined to get back on track.

But HOW do you get back on track you might ask?

The Busy Mom’s Guide to Bible Study, Lisa Whelchel – Christina’s Day Five

Posted by on Aug 22, 2013 in The Busy Mom's Guide To Bible Study

Today is focused on saying Scripture out loud AND turning it into a prayer by inserting pronouns for those you are praying for…. NICE!  Lisa Welchel is such a great guide in this – and I am thankful to this study.

The scripture for today is:

Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over the present darkness, against the spiritual

The Busy Mom’s Guide to Bible Study, Lisa Whelchel – Christina’s Day Three

Posted by on Aug 15, 2013 in The Busy Mom's Guide To Bible Study

Auditory learning…  reading the content out loud (loud enough to hear it well, not a little whisper)  gives us another learning style Lisa Whelchel shares in this day’s study.  I think I like this method the best – I do find myself when I really need to concentrate on something I am writing or reading I read it out loud.  So for learning I really feel this is the best for me.

One of my favorite things from my small group bible study is what ever we were studying the leader, Mike, would break it into peaces and have each one of us read that piece out loud to the group.  It was really neat because not only did we get the benefit of listening to someone else and their “inflections” while reading but we all seemed to have different translations of the bible and we could share that too… boy I miss that the most!

Day three works like this – read this passage and “stress” each word while reading it several times over – so the first time you read it out loud you stress the first word, the second time – the second word, the third time – the third word and so on until you have read it out loud as many times as there are words in the passage.  I am not sure about reading the passage over and over as many times as there are words in it but defilement out loud – as I say loud and proud!

Try it – here is our passage:

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4

Christina’s Days 71, 72, 73, 74, and 75 Ministry of the Home…

Posted by on Feb 21, 2013 in Becoming the Woman God Wants Me to Be

Today I am working to get caught up – it is strange how one bump in your normal routine can throw the entire thing off for a long time.  It is so much work to create a habit, work within discipline and it only takes one little trip to deconstruct what you had been building for some time! Excuses NO, Ownership in me not putting myself right back where I was in the line of focus and work the minute I stumbled!  Here are my days I am behind and I look forward to God’s grace in keeping focused and moving forward!
