Great check list of things to get together – hmmm not much we probably did not know already but that “avoidance” thing keeps coming into play! Getting all of the information from your wallet, your passport, legal docs, emergency contacts and any “directives” together NOW is great advice. I want to get this going and add it to my long term projects so that I have the reminder to keep it up to date and have the family aware of how important it is… Here is my check list:
Learn MoreThis week’s readings were all about getting a reality check…
First, was the memory verse (feel free to click on it to get the larger size and print it out to help you memorize it):
How exactly can we achieve this? Well… it starts off with planning for the future – for the time when you are old and will need money to care for yourself so your children do not have to…
Learn MoreToday it talks about how money drives people. It becomes their focus – we have been taught the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.. 1st Timothy 6:10 (here it is in several translations) – one thing I can say about myself is I have never been “driven” by money and having it. I am not saying I live within my means but I can say I have not and do not dream of being “rich” “having it all” or making “tons of money”. I have always looked at it as, I just need to make so I can live happy, have some of the things I want and be able to do things with my family.
Learn MoreFirst, it was neat to find out that the author is also a Jersey girl! I too, I know the feeling of having fireworks when nobody else did as a child, because we got them from another state. In New Jersey, the only thing we could buy for the fourth of July were sparklers and maybe those little snap pops that you throw on the ground. Even when we did not have fireworks, “we always” had sparklers and a cookout.
Learn MoreMy children are a gift from the Lord… even when they’re grouchy… even when I’m grouchy… when they’re being divas… even when they’re arguing with me. But… They have individual needs and long for mommy-time regularly.
Learn MoreToday’s lesson reminds me of a comedian I saw once on a Christian Comedy Show called Bananas. The comedian’s name was Bone Hampton (Bone Hampton’s YouTube Channel) and I could not track down the video where he sang his clutter song, but it was hilarious. LOL. He sang, to the tune of Sanford and Son:
“Cl- Cl- Clutter. Clutter Clutter Clutter. Cl – Cl- Clutter…”
But, now EVERY TIME I hear the word CLUTTER, that funny song runs through my head. 😉
