The Busy Mom’s Guide to Bible Study, Lisa Whelchel – Christina’s Day Two

Posted by on Aug 12, 2013 in The Busy Mom's Guide To Bible Study

Lisa Whelchel takes us on a journey where we look into the different modalities of “learning”, “taking in what we read or are exposed to”, “retaining the information for our knowledge base”.  She discusses Visual Learning, Auditory Learning and Kinesthetic Learning(learning while doing).  How do you study or work best and retain the information you need to retain?  I am a hands on person, I like to read and touch at the same time then I can retain steps I need to take, I can retain facts that are shared and best of all I am equip to teach others best when I have learned something this way.

Today we read Matthew 5:3-10

New International Version (NIV)

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Alicia’s Day 66: The Comfort of Family Traditions

First, it was neat to find out that the author is also a Jersey girl! I too, I know the feeling of having fireworks when nobody else did as a child, because we got them from another state. In New Jersey, the only thing we could buy for the fourth of July were sparklers and maybe those little snap pops that you throw on the ground. Even when we did not have fireworks, “we always” had sparklers and a cookout.
