When I read this today, my first thought was, “I don’t know if I can live without meat for the next 10 days.” The author’s suggestion of nothing but vegetables and water for the next ten days is a bit scary for me. I have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and my husband is diabetic (high blood sugar) and managing our protein intake is a large part of keeping our blood sugar levels stable. Eating nothing but vegetables all of a sudden was scary. BUT, rather than give up on this challenge, I emailed my accountability partner, Christina, for help. She suggested that I: “create a plan that works for you to focus on healthier not to really take things away but to focus on better” – and that I can deal with! {{Hugs Christina!}}
So, instead of grabbing some of the kids’ Halloween candy when I was hungry before I exercised, I opted for celery and peanut butter. That is a good enough start for me. For dinner tonight, we will be having lime chicken, but I will prepare a good portion of veggies for us to have along with our meal. Progress is progress, no matter how small. 🙂
I am so glad for my accountability partner during this study. It was good that she was there and knew EXACTLY what I was dealing with and could give me some advice to help me keep going! I am not cutting out meats with this, but I will focus on making healthier choices. To help me keep up with this, I am creating a log of everything I eat and drink today (and hopefully for the next 9 days, too).
