Alicia’s Day 5: CHOOSING to Focus on the Positive

Alicia’s Day 5: CHOOSING to Focus on the Positive

Today’s lesson is an amazing follow-up to yesterday’s realization for me. Yesterday, I discovered my secret sin was allowing the negative words of discouragement to take root in my mind. Today, a reminder that allowing negativity is a choice – MY choice – and today I would rather opt for the positive.

I saved my daily affirmation from today’s lesson as an audio note in Evernote, so I can listen to it and repeat it out loud whenever I need to refresh and recharge my mind whenever I need to. I also wrote my affirmation out a couple times. For me, I learn things better when I write them down.

So, what’s the deal with my picture of the day? My candle. When I set up my Mobile TAG Basket, I included my favorite candle holder and a battery-operated led light that flickers. I turn it on whenever I do my daily Bible study – it helps me in a couple ways. First, it reminds me of peace and relaxation, so no matter where I go with my TAG Basket, it can be a peaceful & relaxing place. It also serves as a reminder to me to keep my light – positivity and faith – burning bright, no matter what I face during the day.

“This little light of mine;
I’m gonna let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel? NO!
I’m gonna let it shine.

Let it shine til Jesus comes;
I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”

  1. I was excited to see this message today along with the daily message I read before I get out of bed and shared it with you – they are so in sync! I love it! This was very powerful after your statement yesterday and I can see where it is going to really come into play in your life – really both of our lives! Thank you again for doing this study with me!
