1st Peter has been crossing my mind for a long time. I finally decided to “LISTEN” to the message that was being shared with me…
This book was written by Peter – it starts off by sharing words of salvation and Jesus returning. He shares the importance of being faithful and to know that God is judging those here on earth by the things they have done and how strong they believe in him. I loved the line:
1 Peter:8-9
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end results of your faith the salvation of your souls.
This hits home for me – I am constantly asked “how can you just have faith?” “you are such a fact person – how do you have faith in something there is no hard concrete here you go touch it answers?” My answer is always there is proof all around me everyday – I have NO problem having faith and knowing I am right to do so.
God is all around me, you and everyone. This section of 1 Peter chapter 1 really seals the deal for me! Though I did read all of chapter one, it is amazing how a portion of what you read really stands out and gives you warmth and a sense of “It will all be alright!”
Thank you Jesus for pointing me the direction of 1 Peter to read….. more on Chapter 2 next post!
