Live Energized, Not Exhausted

This devotional was a good reminder for me today. It is so easy to be tempted to do things on our own – but that can only get us so far. Plus, it often leaves us stressed out and ultimately, burned out as well. So, what can we do so this does not happen???Joyce Meyer reminds us in this devotional that we need to remember to follow God’s plan – or find ourselves burned out. When I try to do the things I want, without first seeking God’s will, that is where I find myself – maybe not right away, but when I keep pushing forth trying to do it my way, that will be the final result.

Often when I am feeling my most stressed is because I tried to keep pushing and scheduled too much in one day and tried to keep going LONG after I should have stopped. I get cranky, I become irritable with those I love, and I struggle to finish all that I wanted too while I am too exhausted to continue.

So, if you want to live ENERGIZED and not EXHAUSTED, seek God first. Wait for the gentle guiding of the Spirit, then proceed. When we do the things God desires for us, we will find it is MUCH EASIER to get the things done that need to be done, all with less stress and more energy. This leaves you the energy you need to do the things God wants you to do – NOT the things you want to do.

Be blessed today and always,

Alicia

Romans 7:6

6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
